Within the framework of the “Between Athens & Alexandria. Platonism, 3rd-7th c. CE” research project, the Institute for Mediterranean Studies of the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas (IMS-FORTH) and the Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies (ACHS) of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina co-organize a monthly online lecture series on late antique Neoplatonism (3rd-7th c. CE). “The ACHS & IMS Neoplatonic Lectures” host invited talks in English or French by leading scholars in the field. The topic of the 2024 lectures is “Neoplatonic Commentaries on Plato”.
“Between Athens & Alexandria. Platonism, 3rd-7th c. CE” studies the relationship between the Neoplatonic Schools of Athens and Alexandria as well as the Alexandrian origins of Neoplatonism. The project is hosted by the IMS-FORTH, based in Rethymno, Crete, in collaboration with the ACHS of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. It is supported by the A. S. Onassis Foundation (2022-2024).
